Our specialist knowledge of moving floor trailers since 1984 and our expertise in off-road use formed the foundation for the development of this unique axle. With more than 60 years of experience in developing and producing axles - combined with a specialisation in robust axles for heavy duty applications - Gigant represented the perfect partner to develop our Knapen HD AXLE. Following a period of extensive research and practical trials, the tried and trusted, proven Gigant technology turned out to be the ideal basis for our own Knapen HD AXLE.
We know the rugged and challenging conditions your moving floor trailer must operate in better than anyone. The most vital components of the axle; the axle body, shock absorbers, air bags and support arms therefore have an extremely robust construction that enables them to function optimally in all conditions. In collaboration with partners and research institutes, the axle has been subjected to rigorous studies and trials. The results of these practical trials were impressive. This supports our absolute confidence in this high quality product!
The Knapen HD AXLE excels in its maintenance-friendly design; the air bags can be replaced with no need for special tools and the brake discs can be replaced easily without removing the bearings. The axle track can be easily set and adjusted thanks to the use of eccentric bushes. Inspecting the axle as part of the regular maintenance schedule of your moving floor trailer is sufficient. For service and spare parts, you can use Knapen's extensive network and the Gigant network. A Knapen moving floor trailer equipped with a Knapen HD AXLE is classified in the ‘on-road’ category.
