Floor plank profile: Leakproof, leak resistant, semi leakproof

Bulk loads such as certain types of waste, biomass and fertilisers may contain moisture or other liquids. In many cases, leakage of fluids is undesirable or not permitted. Various unloading sites or transport companies impose requirements aimed at preventing leaks and spillage on site or during transport. Strict requirements also often apply for rail or sea transport. Do you transport moist or fluid-rich loads? Read more about the possibilities here.

Leakproof

The leakproof floor profile is 100% watertight, in combination with the type of floor and the moving floor system installed at the front of the trailer. The leakproof floor is a good option if you transport moist or fluid-rich loads, such as fertilisers, slaughter waste, waste, domestic kitchen waste etc. Increasing numbers of customers, transporters, local or national authorities or unloading sites are placing requirements on leak prevention. This requirement also oftens applies for rail or sea transport.

Leak resistant

The same floor plank profile is used with a leak resistant floor as with a leakproof floor. However, a leak resistant floor is not 100% watertight, because the moving floor system is mounted under the floor instead of at the front of the trailer. Any moisture leaked from the load is collected in special drip trays and a containment tank under the trailer where the moving floor system is mounted. The tanks can be emptied at a suitable location.

Installing the moving floor system underneath offers the advantage of being able to fully utilise the trailer's loading capacity. Maintenance and any repairs can also be performed as usual. The limited liquid containment capacity means the leak resistant floor profile is not suitable for loads that are high in moisture or fluids.

Semi leakproof

The semi leakproof floor profile is an all-round floor profile for versatile application. The floor profile is suitable for loads with a moderate moisture content. Any leakage from the load is discharged through channels to drip trays at the front and rear of the trailer. The trays can be emptied at a suitable location. The channels must also be cleaned regularly to ensure optimal functioning. The limited liquid containment capacity means this floor is not suitable for loads that are high in moisture or fluids.
