This bumper is truly unrivalled in the market thanks to its unique features. Position the pull-back bumper in its highest position safely and quickly using the Knapen Trailers remote control. This creates ground clearance of no less than 650 mm. This is a very practical solution when unloading above a drop or pit, or in the field. Another advantage of the pull-back bumper is that no residues of the load are left behind on the bumper after unloading. A great innovation that represents Knapen's spearhead Drivers' Ease & Safety.
The new pull-back bumper will be available on agricultural moving floor trailers in the Knapen KX series from spring 2024. The pull-back bumper will also be available on other Knapen models in the course of 2024.
Place the pull-back bumper from driving position to its highest position and increase the ground clearance at the rear of your moving floor trailer by 200 mm, giving you total ground clearance of no less than 650 mm. Combined with the rear hinges of the bumper, this offers you significantly more flexibility and ease of use during unloading. This feature also significantly reduces the risk of damage and the associated costs. Positioning the pull-back bumper fully against the chassis in the highest position offers the additional advantage of preventing any residues of the load accumulating on the bumper.
For safety reasons the underrun protection, or bumper, of each trailer must comply with strict statutory requirements to provide adequate protection in the event of rear-end collisions. The maximum ground clearance, or the distance between the lower edge of the bumper and the ground, may not legally exceed 450 mm. However, when unloading over a drop or on unpaved surfaces, this maximum ground clearance of 450 mm is often too small, which increases the risk of damage to the trailer. In these situations, the pull-back bumper is the ideal solution.
The pull-back bumper is operated safely and quickly using the Knapen Trailers remote control. The hinges are pneumatically controlled and repositioning the bumper takes less than 10 seconds. An automatic locking pin secures the pull-back bumper in both the driving and highest positions. The pull-back bumper complies with the statutory requirements for safe operation on the road and during unloading.
Maintenance friendly
Thanks to the cataphoretic electro-coating (KTL) treatment and powder coating, the pull-back bumper is highly corrosion resistant. This makes it suitable for use in all weather conditions. The bumper is also very maintenance friendly thanks to the pneumatic control and the high quality parts used.
Operating the pull-back bumper is safe and easy, even from the cab. The driver can see the position of the bumper at all times. In the context of Drivers' Ease & Safety, the side of the moving floor trailer is equipped with a red indicator light. Is the indicator light off? This shows that the pull-back bumper is secured in driving position so the driver can safely continue the journey. Is the indicator light on? This shows that the pull-back bumper is in its highest position, secured and ready for the trailer to unload on site or in the field. Is the indicator light blinking? This shows that the pull-back bumper is currently moving and not yet secured in the desired position.
