The height difference between the front and rear of the trailer can make unloading a conical moving floor trailer smoothly and efficiently quite a challenge. To optimise the unloading process, Knapen offers a smart solution for conical moving floor trailers: a movable bulkhead with a sheet suspended from springs.
In conical trailers, the distance between the floor and the upper rail increases towards the rear of the trailer. Due to this, the moveable bulkhead is pulled backwards and downwards simultaneously. With a standard moveable bulkhead in a conical trailer, this movement exerts high forces on the sheet, the sliding profile and the rollers. This increases the risk of tears in the sheet, distorted profiles and faster wear of the roller bearings.
A movable bulkhead with a spring assisted sheet offers the solution. The extra long sheet combined with the springs acts as a buffer and significantly reduces the load on the sheet, the roller bearings and the sliding profile. The result? Lower maintenance costs and less trailer downtime.
An additional length of sheet, which is suspended from springs, is attached to the head board side of the moveable bulkhead. When the moveable bulkhead moves to the rear of the trailer, the springs extend so the extra length of sheet can be utilised. This ensures smooth unloading over the entire length of the trailer.
The moveable bulkhead with this sheet and springs is just 5 kg heavier than the standard version. It can be ordered directly on the Knapen moving floor trailers website. The sheet is suitable for all types of cargo. Although the moveable bulkhead with spring assisted sheet is mainly recommended for conical trailers with a slope above 300 mm, it can also be handy on conical trailers with a shallower slope. This depends on how the trailer is used and the area of application.
The spring assisted sheet can also be retrofitted to replace the sheet on existing trailers.
